LUNGS

Synopsis

In a world plagued by environmental crisis and political uncertainty, a young couple attempts to decide whether bringing a child into the world is an act of irresponsibility or hope. Their intimate debate grows into an emotional tidal wave that tests their values and relationship, asking if love can survive the suffocating weight of modern life.

Premiering at the Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C. in 2011, Duncan Macmillan’s award-winning, emotional and hilarious two-hander has only become more relevant over the years. With productions all around the world, it is one of the most consistently performed plays in the contemporary repertoire.

Huron Station Playhouse is honored to bring this play to life, with its surprising humor, commitment to raw performance and Macmillan’s truthful voice that captures the rapid, breathless pace of human anxiety in a modern world.
